With Christmas just around the corner, the party season will soon be here which means lots of work do's and parties are approaching. Wrapped ponytails Ponytails look great during party season and they can be as fun or as sophisticated as you want then. Knots Top knots and low knots look great, and can be as messy or as sleek as you want them to be. If you’re going straight out from work to party, this style will work wonders as it will last all day and night. A fun way to style a knot is to curl your hair once it’s in a ponytail then section and pin it into the base of your pony. Team it with some bold earrings and you’ll be making a great statement! Hollywood glamour We’re talking big, thick curls, winged eyeliner and bold red lips...need we say more? Braids Oh we love a braid. They’re sexy, fun and sophisticated all rolled into one. What’s even better is they work on all hair lengths....yes even on all you short haired beauties out there. Whether you opt for one around your crown, a small side French braid or a braided up do, your hair will look beautiful whatever type you go for. Curls Of course, we have to give curls their own mention! They’re such a popular option especially when there’s a party to go to, and with so many different types to go for, you are spoilt for choice with this look. Wavy, kinky, spiral, rollers, straighteners, tongs...this look is so versatile and popular, you really can’t go wrong! When it comes to adding the all important final details to a wedding dress, choosing a veil is definitely one not to be overlooked because it can completely transform your look. However, with so many to choose from, it can become a tough decision to make. Below is a selection of styles we have put together to get you started. Birdcage This is the shortest of veils that covers part of the face, with a length of 30-45cm from comb to face. Netting is a popular material choice for this type of veil. Blusher A blusher veil is on that drapes down the back but also covers part, or all, of your face. It is usually pulled back over the head at the start, or during, the ceremony. Blushers can be applied to most veil styles. Shoulder As expected, this veil stops at shoulder length. This is ideal for a bride who wants something simple that she wont be fazed by. Elbow Elbow veils are ideal if you want to emphasise the intricate detailing of your dress. If you have a backless dress, a bodice or sweetheart neckline, an elbow veil will team up beautifully. Fingertip Usually between 36-45" in length, the fingertip veil looks wonderful on all dresses and body shapes. It’s a win-win because everyone can look gorgeous in this style. Floor Not quite a train, but enough to make an impact. The floor veil, often also described as a waltz, is walking length and gently grazes the floor behind you. Chapel The chapel usually measures between 70-90" and lies just a bit longer than the wedding dress itself. It is perfect if you want to elaborate your look and still create an impact. Lace chapels are a popular choice and look stunning, especially if you have a more formal style dress. Cathedral Named Cathedral because they were traditionally worn for Church/Cathedral weddings, these veils will give your guests train envy! They make a real statement, filling the width of the Church isle behind the beautiful bride. There’s no doubt about it, this veil will turn heads! A final note... Once you have decided on the style you want, consider next, how it will work with your hair. You may want to take your veil with you on the days you’re booked in for your consultation and hair trial, but it isn’t essential. It is, however, important to let your hairdresser know what kind of veil you are going for as this could impact the style you are looking for. Either way, a good hairdresser will work with you to ensure you are looking and feeling your very best on the day. |
